The single also topped the charts in the U.K. In 1998, The Offspring released the massive hit single “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy).” The song entered five Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100. The outstanding sales performance led to multiple platinum certifications in ten countries. The album spawned several great hits, such as “Gotta Get Away,” “Self-Esteem,” and “Come Out and Play.” The record, which was regarded as helping bring punk to the mainstream market, sold over 11 million copies worldwide, six million of which were sold in the U.S. Besides the U.S., the album also entered the charts in 15 other countries, making it The Offspring’s first international success.
